Aldham 2002 Old Tyme Rallye

Aldham, Essex.

This Rally was cancelled last year due to foot and mouth and it was a welcome addition to this years calender. I felt that the entries were down a bit on 2000 but nevertheless, it was a good rally with lots of tractors, steamers and classic cars. The Stationary Engine line had some very interesting engines, and here are a few of them along with the usual clan.

My pumpset running sweetly as ever.

Rob Vince with his 1925 1 1/2 hp Fairbanks driving the Argosy with La La getting the water treatment.

A nice example of a 1906 1 hp Leader Iron Works owned by J Chiles of Colchester Essex.

John Southall from Willisham Ipswich tending his 2 hp Lister generator which is now rad cooled and no longer overheats.

An unusual 1930 Mallaieu-Conrey owned by M Chiles of Colchester Essex.

Another unusual engine, a 1922 Witte F 2 3/4 hp owned by G Cooper from Corby.

A 1933 Petter VF owned by W parmenter from Stanway Essex.

A superb resoration (I understand it has 17 coats of paint), a1916 1 1/2 hp Fairbanks driving a Fairbanks pump owned by A Munson from Stanway Essex.
